The trio of the great American pianist will conclude the jazz season at Le Muse on Sunday 27^th July (presale starts on Friday 20 June 2003)

The Keith Jarrett concert will be THE musical event this summer in Ancona. The American pianist doesn’t perform very often in Italy or abroad. He has been invited to be the absolute protagonist of the last editions of Umbria Jazz and doesn’t usually accept to perform more than once or twice for his Italian fans, at least ever since his recovery after suffering from fatigue, which kept him away from the stage for over three years. The European tour that set off from Perugia will be concluding at Le Muse Theatre.

Keith Jarrett will play in a trio with Gary Peacok and Jack DeJohnette (double bass and drums), a legendary trio due to its longevity (their first projects and recordings date back to 1983).

Jarrett is among the greatest pianists: eclectic, in a constant musical search between past and present, experimentalism and rigorous academic interpretations of the classic repertoire ranging from Bach to Shostakovich, an all-round artist, yet difficult to define. It would be reductive to confine him to jazz. His improvisation of afro-American music, that freedom that makes his music deviate into a fluid, unknown world capable of astonishing his listeners every time, merges on Jarrett’s keyboard with refined pieces of chamber music, producing a jazz which can almost be defined as meditation. A spiritual dimension that dominates the virtuosity of a pure and almost perfect technique, an ability that rules over the instinctive force and sets free an immaterial energy.

Tickets can also be booked by phone only up to 4 seats per name and up to three days before the concert date.
